Have you guys heard about the Vicente Sotto Memorial Hospital Scandal? I didn’t know anything about this until a friend from friendster shared her thoughts about the scandal in the bulletin. I didn’t realize that it was this bad. To give you a background, a gay couple were playing around and one inserted a canister to his boyfriend’s anus and had to be taken to the hospital to have it removed. I agree that it is something that we don’t see everyday in the Philippines but how the doctors and nurses handled the situation was just too demeaning. The medical personnel from the hospital were taping the entire thing, making side comments and jokes while the doctor was removing the body spray canister from the patient’s anus. When the cannister was on its way out they jokingly referred to it as baby coming out. I would like to post the video here but it is too graphic but you can check it out here and see for yourself. What happened to the patient’s confidentiality and privacy? Aren’t they supposed to follow a code of ethics for doctors? What a shame.
