We wanted to go to church yesterday but we woke up a little late. I am sure if Frankie and Ryan had to get ready, we will all be late. So I told Ryan that I will go ahead and go then they will just have to stay home. Frankie needs to eat his breakfast anyways so I went without them. It was a beautiful mass with a nice homily. During the “peace be with you” part, a Filipina came up to me and asked me if I were a Filipina. I said yes, we shock hands then they went back to where they were seated. When the mass ended they were already waiting for me at the back of the church. We walked out together and talked for over 30 minutes before heading home.
You know what surprised me? That there is an organization of Filipinos here in Park Forest and in Steger. She even said that Steger always have their yearly Filipino festival. She told me that although she has only been here for 10 months, she has met a lot of Filipinos. I am so happy because this means that Papa will meet some older Filipino folks that are around here soon. We added each other in friendster and I have seen pictures of their outings and camping. It really looks like fun. Well, I am really looking forward to this because there are also a lot of kids that Frankie can play with.
