Playing Pretend
Growing up I used to pretend that I am in a beauty contest and my blanket was my night gown. I remember walking around the sala waving my hands to the spectators and giving them flying kisses. Imagination is part of being a child that needs to be nurtured. I have been seeing Frankie playing pretend more recently. When he sees his yellow toy cellphone, he then put it by his ear and start calling Dada or Nay-nay and pretend that they are talking to him. It is even interesting when you hear him do it because you would think that he is actually talking to someone because he tries to pause like he is listening then he starts talking again. He also puts together the cushions from the couch and ride on it pretending like he is riding a horsey. Below he was using his Tita Sheila’s phone and I asked him to call Dada. He was walking around for a good 10 minutes with the phone trying to converse.
The one below was before his lunch when Ryan called and they talked over the phone. It was so funny to hear him explain like as if he did something bad and mind you, he talks complete with facial expressions and hand movement just like his mama. I love this stage. They are so cute when they figure something out or something new.
