Frankie’s Fascination to Pianos
I wouldn’t be surprised if Frankie will grow to love music. When I was pregnant with him, while doing my cross stitch, I used to watch the Phantom of the Opera over and over again. There is something in it that fascinated me so much especially when they start singing. I used to sit there and close my eyes and feel the music. I also liked listening to the CD that Papa and Ging-ging sent me (them singing). I listened to it in the car, while I am getting ready to take a nap and even while surfing the internet. There is something in their voices that is so soothing to me. So no doubt and I can tell that Frankie likes music a lot. Recently, whenever he hears something from the TV he sways his head back and forth and then sometimes he dances. I am not sure if all kids that is in his age does this but he surely does. He likes his guitar a lot and his little piano. The first time he first played with a piano is at Grandma Horner’s place in Chicago where we spent our Thanksgiving. In the picture below, Nathaniel was showing him how to play it. Since then he has always been playing with it every time we have our get together up there.
The picture above is with my co-worker Sharon during our Christmas party. She knows how to play the piano and she was so amazed when she was teaching Frankie. She started with showing him where the highest key is then the lowest and right after she showed him that, he immediately press the low key and the high key. She also said, his fingers are really long and that it should be pursued if he shows interest in playing the piano. I thought in the beginning that he must have just find it amusing because it creates sound but he could be really liking it. When Sharon asked him where the low key and high key again, he slide down his seat and went to the high key and pressed it.
We went to Target last week with Papa to get something. We happened to pass by the electronics department where there is an aisle of organ displays. He immediately pointed at it and started crying. I didn’t realize what it was that he wanted when I looked back. He wanted to play the piano/organ. So I pushed the cart towards them and he started playing. He was so happy that I was literally standing there for a good 10 minutes. Every time I wheel the cart away he started crying. I told Ryan we may have to give him piano lessons when he is ready. You’ll never know, our neighbor teaches piano lessons. Now I have to see how much it is going to cost us.
