After two weeks of not seeing the new addition to our family because their internet connect both at my parent's house and at my brother's house sucked, Resty was finally able to upload a video and some pictures at her job. Gotta love the technology, eh? Papa was giggling when he saw the cute video below of Gadi. Frankie kept saying "baba" while looking at his cousin.



I am so happy that they are home and doing well. He was only 6 lbs. something and really looked like his mom.

Can you tell that my siblings are so all over him? They sure are and I am sure that they will also be with Frankie. I can't wait to be with him hopefully on his first birthday.

To Kissimmee, Florida For Free

There are only few things in life that I consider free. It is the air that we breathe and the free cookies at the grocery store that my son always looks forward to every time we are there, just to mention a few. Frankie And The Microphone

We went to Sheila's house last week for Papa to check the molding and to see how much of a work he has to do. We also had a yummy lunch there and of course we were taking turns to sing karaoke. Frankie was so happy with the microphone that he won't even let Papa or I take it away from him. Every time he sings out a tune he giggles and runs away to hide then he then come back and grab the microphone. I have to assist him because I don't want him to break the microphone.

Last Wednesday, we were all out to buy some Filipino stuff that Papa and I need around the house. We decided to stop by Best Buy to see if they have microphones over there. There were a couple of duet ones but Papa told me it was too expensive for a brand that we don't even know. After Best Buy we went to Target to see if they have one there. They have one exactly the same as in Best Buy but $5.00 less. I grabbed it for Frankie and he has been so happy since. We plugged it in the VCD player unfortunately it didn't work but it tricked Frankie. He thought it was working so he kept singing. He even want to sleep with that microphone. Right now, Papa took Ryan's karaoke from our bedroom to the living room and put it right next to the TV. The microphone actually works with the karaoke that is why Papa transferred it out. I told him to take it out anyway because it is just collecting dust in our room. Frankie and I used to listen to a CD while we take our nap but we stopped doing it. I was gonna get Frankie a microphone for his birthday but I just couldn't wait anymore. He looks to cute every time he tries to sing.

Well, that was then when I wasn’t looking for a job and now that I am, I can’t believe the competition that is out there. Neis Merchandising Services

Is what I call our little thing going on here. You see, Ryan was hired last week to do the stores. In the contract he can actually outsource it to someone if he wants to. We can even have someone to work for us if someone needs a job around here. Of course they have to have a retail experience and the work should be done before 3:30 p.m.. Since I officially start with training next week, I was up for the challenge for this week. They were so easy to do and they were around our house so I went for it today. He has a lot of store to merchandise next week that I can probably squeeze in my schedule. I was hoping to come home on time for Frankie's nap but Papa said that he just fell asleep when I walked in the door.

So technically Ryan is my boss right now and he is driving me nuts. He wants me to read a lot of papers and I was complaining how I have to read for the other on call job and the other part time job that starts next week. I'm sorry I hate reading unless it is necessary and I got it anyway after acting so crabby to him. He doesn't have any choice but to put up with me because he has nobody that can do it for him. So what we are going to do is he will try to get as much merchandising task so that I can do it or have someone do it for us. We started this little gig last year but it didn't work out because of Frankie but now the schedule and timing is just perfect.

Jealousy Among Siblings

Papa and I finally talked to my older brother. My sister in law has been home for a day now and everything and everyone are doing great. My brother said that Gadi is so behaved and so quiet something that they were a little surprised compared to Dan-dan. We were trying to have our webcams working but all we were getting were nothing. My brother was going to show to us Gadi through the webcam because he was awake early in the morning. We were all so anxious but they promised us the pictures today or tomorrow.

Anyways, Dan-dan has been acting strange with Gadi around. I think he is jealous because when he sees that the baby is with Cheryl, he would come up to her and ask her to put the baby so that they can cuddle. He doesn't hit or do anything with the baby though but he wants everybody's attention on him and not with the baby. It was really something that my brother and sister in law wasn't expecting but I am sure they can work things out. I don't want him to grow jealous of his brother or feel like there is a competition among the two of them. Just like my family, we have always been supportive and happy for each other. Not even a slight of jealousy or competition. I am sure he will realize when he is ready that his brother needs to be loved not to be considered as a treat. It has only been 2 days so it should get better in time especially when they will try to involve him with the baby. My brother said, I am going to be next. I told him I don't think so. This will be it for them. They are so contented with the 2 boys they have even if they don't have a girl but who knows they might change their minds.

Kids' Choice Awards

Last year I was at home when the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards was aired. It was so amazing how many kids were there and the excitement you see in their face. The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is an awesome award show where a lot of kids are looking forward to, yearly. It will be held this March 28, 2009 and will be hosted by Dwayne Johnson. Kids love this award show because this is the time when their voices will be heard through their votes. I have seen some Nickelodeon shows before and most of them are entertaining and picking for the best nominee shouldn't be a problem. Although for the favorite movie part, I would like to see High School Musical 3 win and my favorite book will always be the Twilight series. Twilight has the coolest story ever.

The Do It Stage

Going places these days or even just going outside is complete with chasing after Frankie. He doesn't want us to do it for him but he wants to do it himself. Alright fine, although it takes forever we let him be. For now he wants to put on his coat/jacket, his hat and his socks and shoes. I am sure when he turns two, there will be more of this me- stage. Sometimes he puts on his hat on his head, just enough for it to be on there and he starts running by the door to go outside. The three of us just laugh at his silliness. He also likes unbuttoning and unzipping his jacket after we have put it on him. Then he starts running and taking it off. Then we have to go and chase him around to put it back because we are leaving. Putting him in his car seat is a pain because he wants to sit in the driver side. He wants to drive instead. You still have a long way to go Frankie.

I have been bugging Ryan to take me to one of the spas around my area. I got a gift card from my mother in law for my 30th birthday last year and I was not able to take advantage of it yet. I haven’t made any appointment because he has to make sure that he is free because I don’t want to cancel on them. I am really looking forward to this. On Call

I woke up so early today and glad that it is not 3:00 a.m. but only 5:00 a.m. I didn't make Ryan's lunch and ironed his shirt last night because I was trying to finish something and I wanted to lay down with Frankie as early as I could. It wasn't really that early because I went at 11:00 p.m. last night. It is early for me considering how often I go to bed late because of work.

Anyways, I mentioned before that I had another interview at another place. Well it ended up that they still want to hire me. I have been honest with her up front that I already have 2 part time jobs. I will be starting with my training next week after I finalize all the papers and she wanted to put me on call. What that means is, whenever they have big projects around my area they will give me a call to see if I am available to work. Since the pay is really good, I said yes and now I am also currently completing my papers with them. There is so much to do and I am enjoying every moment that I have at home. I need to go to the DMV with something and also get Papa's state ID while there too. I just hope I won't be doing the training on Friday because that will keep us from leaving early to Wisconsin but if I have to then they can just wait till I get home.

I need to mail something for my district manager today. Bara Dekabra

It sounded more like "abra kadabra" but yeah that is the single thing that we have been looking for since it got warm here. I have been telling Ryan about it but it was so hard to explain or to describe it. I don't even know what it is English word for it. We went to Menards but we couldn't find a single one close to what Papa is looking for. I kept telling him to get just about anything that he thinks that will work but he was determined to check out Home Depot. So the next day, Ryan gave us money to pay cash for it in case we find it there. After checking out every aile I was losing hope. We came across all the garden tools and he was showing me what would have been perfect. He grabbed one thing when I saw the "bara dekabra" laying on the shelf with a piece of paper attached to it. I told him, "how about this one Pa?". He then looked at it and his face lit up because that was exactly what he was looking for. He was so excited to go home because he wanted to get rid of the bushes that were behind our garage and on the side of our house. He was so funny as we are approaching our garage because he said, the bushes and weeds should start praying because the terminator is home. Ryan was also happy that we found one. In fact it was his first time that he has seen one too.

I find it so cute to see Papa in this towel all over his head. He had that on to keep the sweat from going to his face. He checks the weather regularly so he knows if it is going to be warm outside. If it is, he doesn't walk/run on his treadmill anymore because he will have enough work-out outside. Those branches are what we have in our backyard now. The back of the garage is extremely clean. He is trying to cut them in 3 feet so that we can have it out to be picked up. He had to stop yesterday because we were going out to eat. He wanted to stay so that he can finish it but I insisted that he should come. He loves it outside. Sometimes I have a hard time calling him in. There are times when he just comes in to eat lunch (I cook when he is out) and when he is done, he will be back out there again. Our backyard has not been clean since we moved it because Ryan is always busy. So glad to have Papa here with us. I will be posting more pictures of his project(s) outside.

Pre-paid phones are good when you only use it for emergencies but now that I just got a job that requires calling all the time, I know need a plan. I wasn’t willing to go back with what we had before because it was quit expensive that was the reason why we have to let go of it after two years. I am currently looking into different Verizon cell phones and plans where I can take advantage of a good deal. Lena's Song, "Framed"

Did you remember what you did when you were 7 years old or 12 years old? I certainly don’t. Lena on the other hand has already made a remarkable achievement. At age 7, Lena sung the national anthem in front of a huge crowd leaving people in admiration of her singing ability. Not only that, at age 12 she composed her own song that she wrote in collaboration with Kosta Lois, a veteran Hollywood music composer and producer that was recently released.

I just checked her official myspace page and listened to the newly released composition of Lena's Song entitled “Framed” and I don’t even know how many times I have played it over and over again. Lena’s voice is just so captivating and enchanting. I like the chorus and how she blends her voice very well with the music. She will be an inspiration to many youngsters out there that talent doesn’t come with age. You can be who you want to be even at an early age. I know she will become very popular with her talent in the future. So don’t forget to check out Lena’s myspace page and be one of the many who adores her talent. Hopefully she will be recording more music because a talent like hers is worth to be shared.

Jealous

I am so jealous looking at this picture right now. I snagged it from my sister's account from friendster. I just love looking at them in this picture. I asked Resty where Ging-ging is because she is not in the picture and she told me that Ging-ging was already home. They decided to give her P50.00 for her absense. Nonong Tonette and Resty always go home together so they thought of meeting up with Manoy Gayfred for dinner. Sometimes I wish we did this while I was still with them. I guess we were so busy with doing our obligations that we forgot to unwind. When I left they all realize how important it is to spend time with each other. Too late eh? Nah...I am just happy that they are now spending more with each other and I am just happy and contented seeing their happy faces through the pictures. They have toured Cebu together and hopefully when we go home, we will be able to tour Bohol. That is one of the my brother's wish that all of us 5 will be able to check out the different churches and beaches of Bohol. That would be awesome.

Boredom Remedy

When Ryan and I moved to our new house, we agreed that we are not going to get cable. We both know how expensive it can be and besides we work all the time so we thought we won’t be able to enjoy it anyway. We don’t want to be one of those who almost have a heart attack at the sight of their cable bill. To be honest with you, it can be boring flipping through very limited channels but hey we stick to what we have agreed for 4 years until recently. You see, my Dad joined us here from the Philippines last December. Ryan and I both know that he needs something to keep him occupied besides our son Frankie. He enjoys watching Ryan’s DVD collection but he has seen almost all of them. That is why I suggested to Ryan that it might be time to get a Dish Network.

Twisted Foot

We were eating lunch at Sheila and Kenny's house last Saturday. We were so noisy because Papa was talking with Kenny while I was talking with Sheila. We have already started eating and didn't wait for Ryan because he was gonna come join us later after work. Frankie on the other side kept looking outside because of the cat. They have to take their cat outside because I get so allergic with them around. A little bit later, I felt sorry for the cat that I asked Sheila to take her in. Well, they did but Frankie was all over the place chasing the thing. I was waiting for dessert when I saw Frankie running around with the cat water in a container trying to give it to the cat. So I got up to take it from him because I didn't want to spill the water all over the place. As I got up, my foot got caught on the chair I was sitting and twisted it. I was trying to chase Frankie who was also chasing the cat. It was so painful that I scream in pain. Frankie came up to me and gave me the container with the water in it. He must have known he was in deep trouble.

I tried to stay off my foot because I didn't want to call off from work. Luckily I didn't because someone called off and it would have been hard for them if I did. I didn't get home late too and was in pain the entire time. When I got up Sunday morning, Papa told me that he waited for me until 1:00 a.m. because he was gonna massage my foot and put efficacent (sp) oil on it to ease the swelling but I came home really late. Isn't he sweet? Well thankfully after he massaged it, I went back to sleep and when I woke it wasn't painful anymore. Ryan invited me to go out yesterday so I decided to go with him. I hope it will be gone for good.

Didn't Make It But Happy To Know

I was asked to stay behind after our break because our assistant manager was going to tell me something. I wasn't thinking that it is going to be about the position that I applied for. I wasn't thinking of it anymore because as you can remember, I did it for Ryan and for Papa who kept on pushing me to do it. I did good in the interview I didn't make it although I was so happy to learn about what the management thought of me. The position was given to this one lady who has been doing the job from another Kohl's. So she doesn't have to be trained anymore. Another thing that she told me was of all the people that applied (43), they picked the top 3 and me being one of the top 3. They were having a hard time to decide that is why the result was supposed to be on the first week of March and now it is on the third week of March.

She told me not to be discourage (which I am absolutely not) and asked me to please apply if there is another opening in the future. I told my immediately supervisor and team mates, they were so happy that I didn't make it which means I don't have to leave them. It works out perfectly anyway. Who knows there will be another one in the future which I doubt. The area supervisors there really love their jobs and the pay. Plus they are not too busy so they can do that stuff that they are supposed to do in their areas. I might get lucky in the future but for now I am giving my full attention to my new found job and training.

Ryan and I have been extra careful these days especially with how the economy is and the addition of Papa to our household. We try to buy things that are within our budget and try to pay everything with cash. It is a challenge but we are slowly getting there. We all need something all the time especially clothes to accommodate the different seasons here. Ryan, Papa and I are fine with clothes so far but not Frankie. He has outgrown most of his clothes and it is time for us to go shopping again.

To be honest with you, I am a smart shopper because I go for clearance things. I never pay full price for stuff not unless I immediately need it. Helping

Now that it is getting warmer outside, it is so hard to keep Frankie inside most especially when he realizes that his Tatay is outside doing something. The moment he gets up from our nap, he looks for him and if he doesn't see him inside, he then checks out the outside by looking through the window. If the garage door is open, it means his Tatay is outside and he wants to get out too. He usually runs to the closet in the hallway where the coats and jackets are hanging and points at his coat and get his shoes which sometimes doesn't match. Once he is outside, he continuously follow him around and does what he does. They are so cute to look at together.

Our neighbor Bob never fails to say hi to both of them when he sees them doing something outside. In fact, Frankie has shown him singing the itcy bitcy spider where Bob laughed so hard. I am glad that now the garden tools that Noelle got Frankie last year has been used. He was just too little last year to understand.

Our backyard is getting ready for spring too. We are just waiting for the April 1 pick up to get rid of these leaves. Papa have them all piled up in the backyard. I can't believe how clean it is in the back and side of our garage. I was supposed to take pictures yesterday but Ryan took the camera so will have to do it today. Papa and Frankie did a very good job together.

Talented Lena

I always admire a very talented person but I am even more amazed especially when they are only a youngster. I came across a lot of talented kids when I was teaching before. I have seen a 6 year old pianist, a 9 year old gymnast, another 9 year old dancer and a singer. I am sure their parents are so proud of them. Who wouldn’t be anyway? That is why I have tried to introduce Frankie to music even as early as during my pregnancy and now that he is almost two, it is so fascinating to see his love for music.

In my spare time I occasionally search the internet for videos and songs of talented people. In fact, just recently I came across a very exceptional singer who by the way is only 12 years old and her name is Lena. What amazes me more about her is, she has been composing her own music and just recently released her original composition entitled, “Framed” which she wrote with Kosta Lois, a music producer and composer. When you hear Lena’s voice you wouldn’t even think that she is only 12 years old and already put together a beautiful composition. Lena’s voice is so mesmerizing too. Another Part Time Job

The interview that I was waiting for last Monday was not able to push through but I had another one last Wednesday and another one yesterday. After the interview last Wednesday, I was asked if I wanted to go for it and I told him, it sounds interesting and challenging. If the background check comes back ok then I will be called back. I was offered the job yesterday and now getting ready for the paper work which I got today. I will be going through 6 weeks paid training. Based from the stuff I read and the preliminary information I gathered it seems like a good place to work for. I like the flexibility and the hours (paid mileage and travel time) and how I can pick my own time to go. I will also have time to go work at Kohl's at night. It is part time and with Kohl's, the hours will be a little over 40 a week (more or less). I won't say much anymore because I haven't really work yet to be praising it. Who knows I might not like it and had to quit afterwards but I have always kept a job. One thing is for sure, I will try to come home in time for our nap (Frankie and I).

Another thing to celebrate is Ryan also was offered another PT job yesterday and was also hired today. It is so easy that he just needs to do every other week. It is close to where he is working too so it shouldn't be a problem. We have so many plans for the house and buying a land and we need serious money. We are going to be busy but I know we will always have time set for Frankie and for each other.

Look Mama, I Write

Yes he is left-handed when he writes and sometimes when he eats. Ryan and I sometimes look at each other amuse with what he can do. I don't consider it as a problem as I have so many classmates before who had beautiful hand writings and can really play the piano well. This is what he likes doing while he is alone. He writes and he draws and while doing it he kept saying, "A-X-B" and other letters over and over again. Then he calls me or his Dada to show it to us. He can pronounce the word "write" too. This is what he can at least do for now. He likes coloring with his crayons but we won't let him do it while nobody is watching him because the next time we know it will be on the floor or the wall. You are definitely getting big Frankie.

A Weekend Of Praise and Worship

My parents were a member of the Couples of Christ back in the Philippines. Growing up, we always have people in the house for prayer meetings, bible sharing and to sing praises. They do a rotation, so there were times when my parents take me with them to go to one of the member’s house. I actually missed it when I moved here. I am sure Ryan misses it too because he also did the same thing when he joined the Youth for Christ when he was at UIC. I bet he will like the idea if I tell him that we can join a weekend of music, praises and worship at the Young Christian’s Weekend this coming March 27-29, 2009 at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Justice Is Served? I Really Hope So

I talked to mama yesterday and today to let me know that the murderer who killed my best friend's father are now in jail. As you remember I posted it in my other blog entitled why. As what my mama heard from the news was, he's passenger killed him but when I talked to my best friend yesterday, someone actually stopped him (taxi driver) and he thought they were going to hire him to take them somewhere but instead when he was completely stopped, they shot him and robbed him afterwards. The bullets were coming from the windshield and one went straight to his heart that he was killed immediately.

I didn't want to believe right away because I know how it is back home. It seems to be so fast for justice to be served especially to a family that is very poor. I guess one of the men who killed him was eaten by his conscience that he went to the police and confessed everything. The other two were later arrested. I hope this will put my friend's father at peace.

Just today, another taxi driver that lived not too far from our house was killed and robbed. He just started driving a few days ago. I don't know what has gotten to people. If only I can take all my family here for them to be a little safer, I would.

Simply Amazing

Every time Ryan and I go to our local zoo, I always want to watch the dolphin show. Unfortunately, of all the times we’ve been there, we haven’t watched it yet. Most of the time it is either packed and the tickets are sold out or we couldn’t wait for the next show. I would really love to watch them up close, pet them and feed them. Do you know how awesome it would be to swim with them? I think Dolphins are very friendly and playful animals. They are also considered to be as one of the most intelligent among animals and if you see this video below about Dolphin Bubbles, I am sure you will agree with me too.


The video above was aired at ABC's World News with Charles Gibson and it was so fascinating that I showed it to my son. Frankie was giggling and he obviously like the Dolphins too. He can’t stop pointing at it. It is so mesmerizing to watch the video and see how the Dolphins play with the bubble rings that they blow off their blow hole. Of Papa

Frankie ran away from me and he fell down. He was crying while Papa is laughing.

When I first got here 6 years ago, I always envy those Filipinas that I see with their parents with them. Ryan took me to the museum of Science Industry one time and I saw a couple with her parents here. I told myself that one of these days, my parents will be here with us too. I am so glad and thankful that he is finally here with us and mama will be here soon. I can't believe how convenient and helpful it is to have help around the house. I get to have some sleep as well as someone who willingly wants to watch Frankie. Whenever I see Papa sitting in the living room watching the morning news early in the morning, I never fail to give him a kiss and thank him for all his help. One of the things I really missed with him before is the chance to be able to kiss him goodnight and good morning. Now I can do it everyday and I won't miss a chance.

Lap Band

I was looking at the pictures of Ryan and me when we both visited Canada a couple of years ago and I remember, I was complaining then of how big we were. Looking back, it wasn’t that bad yet compared to now. I don’t know what we did different before but I am sure one culprit is not watching our diet. Will Be Going Out

We will be going out after 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to get Papa some tools for the garden and grass seeds. It has to be after 1:00 p.m. because I am waiting for something. Ryan promised that he will come with us but he is busy so I suggested that we will go by ourselves. I also have so many packages to mail that I have been putting it off forever so finally today, I will be able to take care of that. I really hope it is not going to rain today. It is not as warm as yesterday but I am ok with this as long as it doesn't rain. I am thinking of taking Papa and Frankie to dine out but I can't decide where. I can't home a little late from work last night and I am still feeling sleepy. I may have to snooze back again in a few minutes.

Talking With Nanay

When Frankie is up, I can't talk to mama anymore. The moment he hears me talking and he hears mama's voice he would cry because he wants to get inside the kitchen. We talk in the kitchen by the way because he likes plugging and unplugging my laptop that is why I have to stay in the kitchen. So we take him in the kitchen after crying but instead he will be all over the place opening the cabinets. The moment I stand up from where I am sitting he takes over my place. He doesn't want to be held either. He wants to sit there and pretend to type. Two nights ago, mama was laughing so hard because of how silly he was. He was laughing for no reason and when she laughs he laughs too. He tried to imitate her. She said he sounded so sweet every time he calls her "nanay". Just look at the picture below.

I am happy that even if we are so far we are able to see each other and Frankie knows who they are. He even knows his cousin's name Dan-dan which by the way he pronounces as Da-dan. Good enough I thought.

I asked Frankie what he ate for dinner and to tell Nanay and he was babbling in this one trying to explain to his Nanay which I thought very cute.

I can't wait to unite them soon. I am sure it will be awesome.

Photography Blog Soon

I am so excited for my father because he is currently saving to buy himself a new camera. He used to have one which he bought from Libya and he left it in the Philippines. We have been to several places and he already has something in mind. When the time comes that he will have his own camera, I promise to create a blog for him to showcase all his shots. Photography is his hobby even when he was in the Philippines. By then I will also need a web hosting for his blog. Treat

After Frankie and I got up, Papa went out to get some sun and started moving the stones to one pile so that Dad can pick them up soon. That was what we did when Ryan and I got home from shopping yesterday too. We moved the stones where the deck used to be in one place and we were there outside for almost 3 hours yesterday. We had so much fun that when we came in the house it was already 7:35 p.m. Today, Papa was out so early at 9:00 a.m. again after running on the treadmill. I kept inviting him in but he said he wanted to finish it all. Ryan was even a little worried because he might get sick but I told him that it is what Papa wants and needs a little exercise and sun. It is getting cleaner there and we will get some grass for that soon. He came in for lunch but after lunch he went back there again to finish it. I have to say he is very determined and love the weather. He was even there till Ryan came home from work.

As with our Frankie, the moment we take him out he gets all the garden tools that he can find in the garage and if he sees you using something, that is what he wants to use also. He loves going outside and I don't blame him. Just look at how mad he was when we took him in.

So today Ryan felt sorry for Papa because he has been out for so long. He didn't want him to cook so we took him out for dinner. We went to Red Robin and we had a nice dinner. We drove to Oberweis for ice cream afterwards. On our way home I asked Papa if he wants to have more but he said he was stuffed and can't have anymore.
