Our house was built in the 1940s. Although there were some upgrades that the previous owner did to the house, we could tell that it is old. It is mechanically sound, but there are some portions in the house that are outdated. In 2007, Ryan and my father-in-law ripped the entire floor in the living room. The previous owner had nine cats and she let them roam around the house. The living room stinks so badly with cat urine, so my husband and my father in law decided that they should replace the floor in time for my son’s christening. Frankie and I had to leave the house because it was not safe for us to hang around.
Apparently, they are afraid that the vinyl floor tiles might have asbestos in them since the house was built in the 1940s where there was a wide spread use of construction materials with asbestos in them. With the exposure of asbestos particularly inhaling asbestos particles, a rare form of cancer emerges called Mesothelioma. For most people with Mesothelioma Cancer, they thought it is the end of the world because there is no cure for Mesothelioma just yet. However, there are ways to help Mesothelioma patients combat this cancer and survive Mesothelioma once and for all. So, if you have Mesothelioma, you are not alone.
Paul Kraus was a Mesothelioma patient who is now enjoying life after twelve years of being diagnosed with Mesothelioma. He has written a very educational and informative book on surviving Mesothelioma to share it to people who has one or perhaps know someone who has. Although it does not replace medical treatments of Mesothelioma, it is a very helpful tool that one could use as guide to help combat this cancer. Paul Kraus has live through Mesothelioma and his book holds the same promise to others that one could still live life even with Mesothelioma.
