Adjustments
“That is for everything you have done for us in the Philippines and more,” it is what my eldest brother said when I talked to him about how happy we are to have mama here. After all those years of help and sacrifice, it is all finally paying off. We are so happy to have mama here. Ryan just loves her. She prepares his breakfasts and lunches and of course dinners too. Ryan just loves her cooking. I am not surprise at all if one of these days we are going to be gaining more and more weight with the kind of food that we are eating. It felt like I am eating at the Filipino restaurant everyday.
It was nice to see the boxes mac and cheese and noodles and other things are still in the cupboard untouched. I hate mac and cheese, but Ryan seems to like them. It is my last resort if I can’t think of anything to feed the boys, but I usually get something different for me. I know he grew up eating it, but there is no nutrients in it at all just carbs. It just that I never had it before i came in the US. It tastes so blah to me. Mama has been making delicious dishes that Ryan also liked. We are definitely so thankful. So far, she has been adjusting well. She misses the family in the Philippines, but she knows that they can handle themselves because they are all grown ups. She really likes it here too, and I hope it will last forever.
