    My Ryan and my Frankie

    postheadericon Mama is Here

It’s been a week since when we left the Philippines. I really thought that the “goodbyes” we will have at the airport will be a tough one, but I was surprised that it was not. Mama was crying, but she wasn’t crying as bad as I thought she would. Manoy Gayfred did not even cry because he was very happy for mama, so we left with a lighter heart unlike previous goodbyes.

The flight was horrible. Well, I always consider all flights horrible anyway. Frankie was behaved in the plane, but there were times when he was anxious and liked to go to the bathroom all the time. When mama was sitting right next to me, I couldn’t help but feel happy and proud of her because she has made this far on her own. She battled Manila alone for the interview and when a lot of people think she could make it because she only graduated elementary and did not have any good and adequate education.

Going through immigration was horrible. It wasn’t really that bad if the line was not too long. I had to be with her, and we had to go through a different line. Frankie was getting to cranky and extremely tired. He was so mad why we have to fall in line. When it was our turn, we have to be turned over to the office to finish the papers. There we waited for another 20 minutes or so. Thankfully, when we were all done, our luggage were waiting for us in a cart.

Our Dada was so anxious to see us outside. We were expected to go out over an hour earlier. He was getting worried that we did not make it in the plane. He gave everybody a hug and happily greeted mama. It was a little chilly when we get in. Mama had to wear a jacket. We took a shower and immediately when to bed as it was midnight in the Philippines.

Having mama around is excellent. She loves it here because she doesn’t have to worry about anything. I took her shopping, and she was so grateful with all the things she got. She couldn’t thank Ryan enough. Ryan also loves her cooking. She takes care of our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I hope and pray that she will still like it here even if winter comes around. My siblings in the Philippines are cooping up really well. Mama was not sad to leave them since they are all grown-up and can take care of themselves. I love my mama. It is amazing to have her around.
