    postheadericon Native American Heritage

I am a Filipino married to an American for almost nine years now. We have a son together which is of course a Fil-Am or Filipino American. At first glance, you wouldn’t even think that he is mixed. He looks exactly like his dad. He has blond hair, very light skinned, and tall. Despite his looks, I always tell him about his Filipino heritage because I want him to embrace both cultures. He has been to the Philippines twice, and he has experienced the wonderful culture that my country has to offer.

If there is one culture that I would like to learn, it would be the Native American Culture. I used to have a classmate in college who is Native American, and she used to tell me different stories about her family. It is amazing how strong their family tie was even if they may not be living in the same city. The bond they have for each other is extremely wonderful. I made a little research about Native American Tribes, and I was directed to Powwows.com. The website contains wealth of information regarding Native Americans. They have Native American articles too.

Not only that, they also have information about Pow Wow which I just learned to be as a form of gathering or meeting together among Native Americans. What I like about this website the most is how Native American students can find a list of Native American scholarships complete with the name, address, number, and website of the scholarship for easy find. Under Native American information also has different colleges. They even have jobs posted for those who finished school or to someone who needs help in looking for a job. This could be a good place to start. So, if you know someone who is Native American then please do not forget to tell them about Powwows.com. I am sure they will like to reconnect with people from the same heritage.
