Don’t Text and Drive
I was in our break room at work when I overheard our assistant manager telling her story about a vehicular accident that happened to her about four years ago. She was with her two sons when another vehicle hit them head on. The driver of the other car was texting while driving at the same time, and she didn’t realize that she was going 55 mph when she hit our manager’s SUV. She was really scared that she thought she was dead. The driver on the other car died after a couple of hours in the hospital. Apparently, she had been in a couple previous vehicular accidents due to texting and driving and her parents didn’t get her airbags fixed, so when she had this particular accident, she didn’t have the airbag to activate to possibly save her life.
They didn’t have any problem with the hospital bills because they were able to claim from the other party’s discount auto insurance. She was out for 18 weeks while her kids were out for 20 weeks. They were in therapy and I am glad they are all doing well. I can’t imagine how hard it would have been for them if the other party that hit them didn’t have vehicle insurance. Although it has been so easy these days to get affordable car insurance, there are still some people who do not have them. Car insurance protects both parties in an event of an accident. It is even better that everyone can now get free auto policy quotes online. It makes looking for car insurance so much easier.
